Rocky Point High School life skills and technology students from Mr. Ciaccio’s and Mr. Schamcher’s classes, respectively teamed up to create several hands-on end-of-year projects and help each other learn new skills.

Valerie Morton, Destiny Gabb and Kathleen Johannesen created a block game for young kids to learn organization skills. Nicholas Martin and Travis Ferrie created a wooden safe lock. Angelo Mazzarone and Joseph Ramos made a fishing pole storage rack to make the most of available storage space. Kyle Cantone and Steven Trapani created a checker/chess board.

These projects helped the students learn to look past the first or second failure and keep trying. Students were inspired to envision a project and then figure out a way to create it.
