Several Rocky Point High School students had the chance to participate in cutting-edge science research this summer as part of Brookhaven National Laboratory's High School Research Program.

Students were selected to participate in this competitive six-week summer program after completing an application and securing recommendations. They each spent the summer doing research under the direction of a mentor at the lab, and presented their work at a poster session held in mid-August. Funding for the program comes from the U.S. Department of Energy.

The following students took part in this premier program:

Allen Liu and Bryant Liu
Mentor: Shinjae Yoo
“Drug Effect Discovery on Brain Imaging Data”

Kyle Markland
