Sorry it’s been so silent around here. I’m in the midst of planning my DH’s 50th birthday party. I did an all nighter on the invite. I can’t believe how time flies when it’s quiet and you’re having fun with Photoshop. I got all goofy with it cuz this is the kind of invite he likes to create. We have a 4th of July party every year and he crafts these great invitations that have folks ROFL. Seems this on is a hit too! I got a call from one of the invites who said they couldn’t stop laughing and thought he made it. Ha! I guess living with the man for the past (almost) 30 years has rubbed off a bit! I haven’t been able to knit for a couple of weeks because of the party planning and gathering of photos for a movie/slideshow. I’m having my DS edit something. He is an editor by trade, and is very creative. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with. On Sunday, I went to a book signing for Shirley Paden’s newest book, Knitwear Design Workshop: The Comprehensive Guide to Handknits. I was so impressed by her; I could have hung out with her all day. She has a wealth of information on knitting (duh!) and business. Her story was very inspirational to me since I am thinking about putting my own business together. The forward to the book tells her story, but she gave us the rest of the story that the editors took out. She is a very kind and generous woman. While at the LYS I picked up another project that I will be working on for display, the Easy Bamboo Lace Scarf by Michelle Miller. I am knitting it in lovely Silky Alpaca Lace by Classic Elite. Yummy! The yarn is so soft. I’ve only got two repeats done so far, and I know this will look a lot better blocked. It is going to be very comfy to around the neck.
